Revised dates for the V JJIF Graduate Conference

purtroppo a seguito di alcune variazioni del calendario accademico dell’Università Roma Tre le date della V JJIF Graduate Conference – Roma sono anticipate ai giorni 16-17 febbraio 2012.
Ci scusiamo per il disagio che tutto questo può procurare.

Dear friends and colleagues,
owing to some late changes in the academic calendar, the V JJIF Graduate Conference in Rome is now scheduled for 16-17 February 2012 (and not 23-24 February as previously advised).
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that this may cause – though at least our somewhat moveable feast will now take place a little nearer the great man’s 130th birthday.

16-17 febbraio 2012 (nuove date)

In occasione del 130° anniversario della nascita di James Joyce, il Dipartimento di Letterature Comparate dell’Università Roma Tre ospiterà la quinta James Joyce Graduate Conference organizzata dalla James Joyce Italian Foundation, il 16 e il 17 febbraio 2012.
Si accettano contributi, in italiano e in inglese, sui rapporti di Joyce con l’Italia e con la cultura italiana, e viceversa sulla ricezione, da parte della cultura italiana, della vita e dell’opera di Joyce.
Giovani ricercatori, laureati, dottorandi, dottori di ricerca e studiosi indipendenti possono inviare proposte di interventi individuali o di sessioni di gruppo.
Il breve elenco dei temi di seguito indicato può essere integrato da altri suggerimenti:

– Joyce e il contesto italiano
– Joyce e la traduzione / le traduzioni di Joyce
– I diritti d’autore
– Joyce e i nazionalismi europei
– Joyce e l’internazionalismo
– Joyce insegnante
– Insegnare Joyce

Le proposte non devono superare le 250 parole e vanno accompagnate dal nome, l’indirizzo e le informazioni circa il proprio status accademico o di studioso indipendente. Gli interventi avranno la durata di 20 minuti.
Le proposte devono essere inoltrate, entro e non oltre il 10 dicembre, a joyce.foundation@uniroma3.it.
L’accettazione delle proposte verrà comunicata entro il 10 gennaio 2012.

Joyce and/in Italy
The 5th JJIF Graduate Conference  – Rome
Università Roma Tre, Italy
16th – 17th February 2012 (revised dates)

The 5th James Joyce Graduate Conference, endorsed by The James Joyce Italian Foundation, will be hosted by the Department of Comparative Literatures at the Università Roma Tre, on February 16th and 17th 2012, to celebrate Joyce’s 130th birthday. Papers are invited on any aspect of Joyce’s response to Italy and Italian culture, and/or the Italian reception of Joyce’s life and works. Papers can be either in English or in Italian. We welcome proposals and abstracts for individual papers and for panel sessions from graduates, young researchers and independent scholars.

Concerns include, but are not limited to:

– Joyce and his Italian Contexts
– Joyce and/in translation
– Joyce and the issue of copyright
– Joyce and European nationalism
– Joyce and Internationalism
– Joyce’s teaching
– Teaching  Joyce

Proposals and abstracts should be no more than 250 words. Papers and presentations are limited to a maximum of 20 minutes. Submissions must include name, contact information, and notice of institutional affiliation or independent scholar status.

Deadline for submissions: 10th December 2011. Accepted speakers will be notified by January 10th, 2012. Proposals should be sent via email to joyce.foundation@uniroma3.it.
